Artist Gabriella Buckingham in summer 2025

Do you feel like you've lost your creative fire?

Are you wondering what on earth you're going to do next? Whether you're even cut out for being an artist? Maybe you're paralysed by your own potential. You want to express your uniqueness in paint. Sometimes we just need to be told what to do to feel something ignite within us.

Come with me into my studio. Paint with me, do what I do, in your own way, and let's get that fire back.

This is what I believe about you

You need to go to the depths of your curiosity. You have to be brave enough to keep going and follow your desires to paint in a certain way, knowing that it might take a long time. You'll probably have to make a lot of mess before something close to what you imagine materialises, and repeat this process. It may not be what you thought it would be. It's likely to be better.

You are a unique cosmic event. Your creativity and your soul are unique. You owe it to yourself not to stifle your explorations of your potential just because of some rule another human made. Your superpower is being you.

My students feel the excitement of their own power to choose what to explore in the way they want to. They become braver, embracing their own art without comparison, and fall in love with their own potential as a new reality unfurls.

Gabriella is warm, generous, fun and passionate about her art, which is infectious.

"I've taken two of Gabriella's courses and had a 1:1 session with her. Gabriella is warm, generous, fun and passionate about her art, which is infectious. Whether you want to paint realistic, semi-abstract or abstract art, there is something for everyone. I learned so much and she was always available to answer any questions. The small group made it possible to get to know other artists and get individual feedback and support."

About Gabriella Buckingham

I've been a professional artist for over 30 years, working across illustration, greeting cards and children's books before making the leap to fine art in 2018. It was the best decision I ever made.

Since then I've had work selected for the Holt Festival Art Prize, ING Discerning Eye and Figurative Art Now at the Mall Galleries; shortlisted for the Jackson's Art Prize and the Ashurst Prize.

I've shown in the RA Summer Exhibition twice, had paintings published on products in the RA shop and 2025 calendar, taken part in several art fairs and gallery shows, and worked as a curator. Helping other artists find their way back to the joy of painting is the icing on the cake.

I built Brave in Paint because I was once the artist who felt stuck, uninspired, and quietly wondering if this was as good as it was going to get. I know what it feels like to lose the thread. I also know what it feels like to find it again.

My courses are warm, unhurried, and built around you finding your own voice, not copying mine. Several of my students are now teaching themselves. Many are selling. All of them are painting with more courage than when they started.

If that sounds like something you need, you're in exactly the right place.
